Annals of Gastronomy and Tourism Studies (AGATS) is an international, peer-reviewed scientific journal published twice a year, in April and October.
Authors must confirm that neither the manuscript nor its main contents have already been published or submitted for publication in another journal.
After a manuscript has been accepted for publication and the peer review and revision processes have been completed, the authors will not be permitted to make any changes that constitute departures from the manuscript accepted for publication, except for minor corrections approved by the editors.
The use of someone else’s ideas or words in their original form or slightly changed without a proper citation is considered plagiarism and will not be tolerated. Even if a citation is given, if quotation marks are not placed around words taken directly from another author’s work, this still constitutes plagiarism. Authors are expected to comply with the journal’s Research and Publication Ethics policy throughout the submission and publication process.
Based on the reviewers’ recommendations and the editors’ evaluation, manuscripts may be accepted, returned to the authors for minor or major revision, or rejected. Reviewers provide recommendations, while the final editorial decision is made by the editors. The corresponding author will be notified of all editorial decisions.
Submitted manuscripts should be clearly identified according to their article type, such as Research Article or Review Article.
Submission Process of a Manuscript
The Author Guidelines provide detailed instructions for preparing manuscripts for submission to AGATS.
Authors are advised to follow the AUTHOR GUIDELINES (in English) or AUTHOR GUIDELINES (in Turkish) when preparing their manuscripts before submission.
Authors are required to submit a signed COPYRIGHT FORM as part of the publication process.
The COPYRIGHT FORM should be downloaded, completed and signed by the author(s), converted into PDF format, and uploaded to the journal’s submission system.

Review and Publication Process
Manuscripts may be rejected without peer review by the editors if they do not comply with the instructions to authors or if they are beyond the scope of the journal.
AGATS applies a double-blind peer review process. Reviewers evaluate manuscripts with regard to their scientific quality, originality, methodology, relevance, and contribution to the literature and provide recommendations to the editors.
Reviewers may recommend acceptance, minor revision, major revision, or rejection. The final decision regarding publication is made by the editors on the basis of the reviewers’ reports and the overall evaluation of the manuscript. Authors are expected to carefully address the reviewers’ comments and clearly indicate the revisions made to the manuscript.
Revised manuscripts may be returned to the same reviewers when appropriate in order to assess whether the requested revisions have been adequately addressed. Where necessary, the editors may appoint additional or alternative reviewers.
An acceptance letter will be issued once the peer review and revision processes have been successfully completed and the manuscript has received final editorial approval.
The corresponding author will be informed of the expected publication schedule after acceptance.
Authors are responsible for the scientific, ethical, and legal content of articles published in AGATS.
Authors retain the copyright of their work and grant AGATS the right of first publication in accordance with the journal’s copyright and licensing policy.
